Animal Farm Words
1.) beatific (adj)- bestowing bliss, blessings, happiness or the like
In the summer, I feel a beatific peace within because there is no homework due or papers to be written.

2.) canvas (noun)- A heavy, coarse, closely woven fabric of cotton, hemp, or flax, used for tents and sails.
The beautiful Native American canvas had very ellaborate colors and details.

3.) censure (noun) strong or harsh expression of disaproval
The mother's censure of her son joining the army, made him have second thoughts.

4.) cryptic (adj)- having or seeming to have a hidden meaning
I could not read her cryptic response, and therefore I became even more suspicious of her involvement with the stolen credit card.

5.) demeanor (noun)- conduct, behavior
The Fonz from "Happy Days", always had a very confident demeanor about him.

6.) embolden (verb) -to make bold or bolder; hearten; encourage.
In order to embolden the soldiers, I gave them encouraging last minute words before the battle.

7.) enmity (noun) - a feeling or condition of hostility; hatred, ill will; animosity
With his strong enmity towards his enemy he showed no mercy in the fight.

8.) ensconce (verb)- to settle securely or snugly
My dog always inensconced with me in my bed to keep me warm; sometimes he takes up my entire bed!

9.) inebriate - (verb)- to make drunk; intoxicate, confuse.
- I inebriated her with all of the best beer of germany.

10.) lamentation (noun) -to express grief, cry out in pain, rage and grief.
I went into lamentation when my dog Paro died.

11) machination (noun)- an act of plotting or an evil scheme
I had to make up a machination to kill the king.

12.) malign (adj)- an evil effect
The rainy weather had a malign influence upon her usual good mood.

13.) morose (adj)- gloomy or sullenly ill-humored
Debby Downer on Saturday Night Live always has a morose attitude about life.

14.) pretext (noun)- misleading appearance or behavior
His many flattering compliments were a pretext for subtle mockery.

15.) sordid (adj)- meanly selfish, self-seeking, or mercenary.
His sordid attitude made him unattractive to the people he met.

16.) taciturn (adj)- inclined to silence; reserved in speech; reluctant to join in conversation
His taciturn behavior makes him a mystery to me.
